Abstract

Leisure events, particularly music festivals in Indonesia, face sustainability challenges, yet research exploring visitor perspectives on this issue remains limited. This study aims to analyze the factors forming visitor perceptions and expectations regarding the implementation of green event concepts. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected via surveys from 400 respondents across three major music festivals in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali, and analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The EFA results revealed that physical indicators such as food and beverage, materials, and waste management are perceived by respondents as intrinsic parts of their personal experience (Perception) rather than separate external dimensions. Furthermore, CFA analysis confirmed that both Perception and Expectation variables significantly and positively influence green event assessment, with Expectation demonstrating a stronger impact. This study concludes that the successful implementation of green events relies heavily on integrating sustainability practices into visitors' subjective experiences and fulfilling their expectations.
