The Influence of Islamic Organizational Culture and Islamic Leadership on Employee Performance Through Organizational Commitment in Sharia Hotels
Abstract
This study examines the relationships of Islamic Organizational Culture and Islamic Leadership with Employee Performance, including the mediating role of Organizational Commitment, in self-claimed Sharia hotels in Padang, Indonesia. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey employed a total sampling approach: 152 employees were invited to participate, and 150 usable responses were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that Islamic Organizational Culture and Islamic Leadership were positively associated with Organizational Commitment and Employee Performance. Organizational Commitment was also positively associated with Employee Performance, and the significant direct and indirect relationships were consistent with partial mediation of both antecedents’ relationships with performance. These findings highlight Organizational Commitment as a potential link between Islamic organizational values, leadership, and employee performance, although the cross-sectional design does not establish causality. The study contributes to Sharia hospitality management literature by examining culture, leadership, and commitment within an integrated employee-focused framework.
